【大学暑期游记英文作文】Summer vacation is always a time for students to relax, travel, and explore new places. As a university student, I have always looked forward to this period of the year because it offers a perfect opportunity to step out of the classroom and experience the world beyond.
This summer, I decided to take a trip to Hangzhou, a city known for its beautiful scenery and rich cultural heritage. I had heard a lot about West Lake and the ancient temples, so I was excited to visit it in person.
The journey started early in the morning. I took a train from my hometown to Hangzhou, which took about four hours. The scenery along the way was breathtaking—green fields, small villages, and distant mountains made the ride very enjoyable. When I arrived at the station, I immediately felt the cool breeze of the city, which contrasted with the heat of my hometown.
After checking into a small guesthouse near West Lake, I set off to explore the area. The lake was even more beautiful than I had imagined. Boats were floating on the water, and people were walking along the scenic path. I rented a bicycle and rode around the lake, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. Along the way, I saw many traditional Chinese buildings, tea houses, and local shops selling handicrafts.
In the afternoon, I visited the Lingyin Temple, one of the most famous Buddhist temples in China. The temple was surrounded by lush greenery and had a calm and spiritual atmosphere. I spent some time walking through the temple grounds, listening to the sound of incense burning and the gentle wind blowing through the trees. It was a moment of peace and reflection.
During my stay, I also tried some local foods, such as Dongpo pork and Longjing tea. The food was delicious, and I loved the taste of the tea, which had a fresh and delicate flavor. I even learned how to brew it properly from a local shopkeeper.
One of the most memorable parts of my trip was meeting a group of fellow travelers from different countries. We shared stories, exchanged travel tips, and even went on a short hike together. It was fascinating to learn about their cultures and experiences, and I realized how much we can learn from each other.
As my trip came to an end, I felt grateful for the chance to see a new place and experience a different way of life. Traveling not only helps us relax but also broadens our horizons and enriches our lives. I hope to go on more trips in the future and continue exploring the world.
This summer vacation was more than just a break from studies—it was a journey of discovery, growth, and unforgettable memories.
